To help raise awareness, Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch, in partnership with the Australian Platypus Conservancy (APC), is hosting a Platypus count census month in August.
Everyone is encouraged to head down to their local waterway and report any platypus or water-rat sightings to the APC.
