[1]A ‘bring-your-own -everything’ day, at a pretty amazing place that is rarely visited by field naturalists. The Friends of Grasslands [1] (FOG) party that went to Lake Bathurst this time last year found fascinating and sometimes rare plant species which many of the group had not seen before. We may have a similar experience this year. Some of the group may want to meet at 8 am in north Canberra and carpool or convoy from there. Others will be going direct to the lake area to meet at 9.30 am. Four-wheel-drives will be required for the final entry to the lakeshore. The party will leave the lake at about 3.30 pm.
Wear: Boots for walking, gaiters if possible (against Tiger Snakes), sun protection and outdoor gear suitable for the weather.
You must register with ann.milligan@fog.org.au [2] before Thursday 8 October to get details of the meeting place(s).
