Protection and Connectivity for Endangered Wagga Wagga Squirrel Gliders

A project involving landowners and local schools will provide assistance to regenerate farmland in the Riverina under a project being undertaken by Riverina Local Land Services in partnership with Wagga Wagga City Council, National Parks and Wildlife Services and the Office of Environment and Heritage.

A grant of $90,000 received from the NSW Government’s Environmental Trust Restoration and Rehabilitation grants program will enable habitat restoration and revegetation work between the Livingstone National Park and Nest Hill Nature Reserves, south of Wagga.

The project will result in regeneration of the habitat of the squirrel glider and provide protection of hollow bearing trees.
