Bus returns to Junee RSL Club at approximately 1.00 pm.
Roadside weed management and IPM project- Marrar
Phil Bowden NSW DPI and Chris Slinger Coolamon-Junee Weeds Officer will speak about the background to the project and how the various treatments will compare the competitive ability of grasses, Acacias, shrub legumes and other ground covers and forbs against introduced roadside weed species.
Cletus, Peter and Anthony Heffernan’s – Claris Park
Mason Crane- ANU will discuss his work with the Junee Nesting Box Project and its success in addressing the loss of hollow bearing trees after the 2006 January bushfires and the importance of paddock trees. Peter and Cletus Heffernan will also outline their experiences in re-vegetating their property and the value of planned tree plantings.
Morning Tea at Eurongilly Hall
Junee Effluent Reuse Dam –Junee
Michael Summerell and Sheeree Shuttleworth from Junee Shire Council, will discuss how the Council is working to protect and enhance the native flora and fauna at the Junee Sewage Treatment Plant. A 140ML storage dam constructed in 1997 has become home to a wide variety of native wildlife including Short and Long Necked Turtles, Pied Stilts, Terns, various species of duck and a large colony of Black Swans and Council has undertaken a range of projects since its construction to improve biodiversity at the site.

Landcare members & community volunteers - $40 per day/$60 for two days
Non-members - $60 per day/$100 for two days
Dinner - $35 per head. Bar provided - purchase your own drinks.
