FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
2013 Coles Junior Landcare School Garden Grant now open
Coles are providing School Garden Grants [3] of up to $1,000 to schools and youth groups to help create gardens in their grounds or community, such as bush tucker gardens, water wise gardens or veggie gardens. Read more [4]
Working together: cross property planning for biodiversity conservation
In a 5 year project, supported by the NSW Environmental Trust, Murrumbidgee Landcare is working with cross property planning groups in the Junee/Illabo, Humula/Tarcutta and Kyeamba districts to improve biodiversity conservation. Training and planning support, field days and funds for on-ground works and weed control are available for participating farmers.

Australian Flora Foundation Research Grants [8]
Grants are available for projects which commence from December 2013. The Foundation expects to support between two and four projects at $5000 - $12,000 each in 2014 with possible extension into 2015. Read more [9]

Launch of K2C Glossy Black-Cockatoo project
Queanbeyan Landcare has organised a launch of the K2C project [13] that aims to provide increased food sources for the vulnerable Glossy Black-cockatoo in the region.
The launch will be held at 11.00 am on 4 March in the RB Smith Community Centre, 262 Crawford St, Queanbeyan, opposite the Queanbeyan City Council Chambers. Read more [14]

Glossy Black-Cockatoo conservation in the Murrumbidgee catchment
A number of projects are underway across the catchment with community groups working together to restore cockatoo habitat, conduct surveys, construct and install nest boxes and fence and protect feeding sites.

Greening Australia have developed a series of ‘how-to’ guides to support the successful implementation of significant revegetation and restoration programs being delivered around the country. There are several free-to-download guides, covering a range of ecosystem types.

The story of Box-Gum Grassy Woodlands
This DVD gives a short history of the ecological communities which collectively are called the Box Gum Grassy Woodlands.
