Rural Scholarships available

The RAS Foundation is looking for students in NSW that require financial support, love to give back to their community and want to make rural and regional areas more resilient and dynamic!

Scholarships of $5,000 for full-time study or $2,500 for part-time study are available for study in 2017. Please help us spread the word!  

There is no limit on the types of courses that qualify or the age of the applicant. You could be studying anything from nursing, engineering or teaching to agricultural science, horticulture or wool classing. You may be studying at University, TAFE or VET courses, on campus or by distance learning. Applicants all have one thing in common – a desire to play an active part in the future of rural NSW.

Applicants for a Rural Scholarship must:

  • Be enrolled in or applying for study in any accredited tertiary course at an approved Australian education provider
  • Demonstrate an active interest in their community and a desire to contribute to the future of rural NSW
  • Demonstrate how a scholarship would assist them in achieving their education or training goal
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

Other Scholarship Opportunities available:

  1.  Sydney Royal Dairy Produce Scholarship - $5,000 awarded to a student who is passionate about the dairy industry
  2.  JB Fairfax Award - $10,000 for a budding rural and regional journalist
  3.  Sydney Royal Wine Scholarship - $5,000 for a student who is keen to play a role the future of the Australian wine industry

Each of these scholarships also include the opportunity to meet industry leaders and expand your professional networks
