Corowa District Landcare would like to invite the community to a forum and discussion on the effects and opportunities of climate change on farm production in the Murray Region. Have local farmers seen any changes to their production systems in the past few years? What should we expect in the future? These will be some of the questions that will be discussed throughout the evening.
This is a FREE event. Corowa District Landcare would like to encourage the farming community to come along to this free event to join in on the conversation, enjoy a light meal and share some stories.
The event will be held at the Corowa Civic Centre, 100 Edward St, Corowa (at the Federation Council Offices).

Guest speakers include:
- Peter Holding - Member of the Farmers for Climate Action & Climate Kelpies, also a farmer in the Harden, South West Slopes region of NSW. Peter will discuss the farm impacts we are starting to see in regards to cropping & sheep production. How can farmers respond to impacts and opportunities?
- Dr Rebecca Darbyshire - Research Officer for Climate Applications at NSW DPI, will talk about likely trends in agricultural production
- Melinda Hillery - Senior Project Officer for the Impacts and Adaptation Team, NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, looking at what is going on with the climate in the Murray Region & where to find resources
- Ian Longfield – Senior Environmental Officer at Rivalea Australia, will be discussing ways in which Rivalea has reduced their carbon footprint & the potential of using crop stubble as a biomass fuel.
There will also be time to share local stories and have discussions on farm planning ideas & innovations.
