Creek walk and BBQ - Bywong

What does a waterway look like after woody weeds are removed? What sort of recovery do you get in a creek when stock are fenced out? How much do people need to do and how much can nature do? 

 

Following on from the Weeds in Waterways workshop, this special event for Small Farms Network Capital Region members includes a BBQ and walking tour of a rehabilitation site on Brooks Creek in Bywong eight years after fencing out stock, tree planting and removing willows and gorse. See the successes, learn from the mistakes!

 

 

Catch up with friends and meet other small farmers. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. Please leave your dog at home. BYO meat (or other BBQ food), plate of food to share, drinks and chair. Wear warm clothing suitable for being outdoors and walking beside a creek.

Annual membership for the Small Farms Network Capital Region Inc costs $20 per person with renewals due in July each year. Because our organisation started recently, members who join before 30 June 2018 will automatically get membership for the 2018-19 year at no additional cost.
