3. The Natural Resources of the Mid Murrumbidgee
The Mid Murrumbidgee is bounded to the north by the Lachlan Catchment, to the south by the Murray Catchment, and extends west from Burrinjuck Dam to west of Narrandera. It covers an area of 32,083 square kilometres.
Much of the following has been adapted from section 7.0 of the Murrumbidgee Catchment Action Plan (1998). According to the Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority (CMA), the CAP is designed to “provide strategic direction for investment in natural resource management for the Murrumbidgee catchment”. This section expands on the information provided in the earlier document. Where newer sources are used, these are indicated.
